As an original New Yorker I have little regret to have left there around 15 years ago. While New York was still cranking at the time I left, it wasn’t too long after where a certain level of corruption flows and just kills the place for those of us small business people out there. Having read an article of the new mayor de Belasio’s upcoming plans and promises, whew! am I glad to no longer be a New Yorker, well I’ll always be a New Yorker at heart but glad to no longer be living there. The scary thing is that many new tax bills or regulations start off in places like NY and within a year or two the lefties bring them to life in the smaller cities without yet noting the unsustainable damage these new regulations and laws do.
Entrepreneurs in New York
How would any entrepreneur ever find any motivation when they know a city will ring them dry of cash? Mr. de Belasio openly promises to raise taxes on anyone that makes over $500k or any small business that employs over 20 employees. You would think the people would see that these small business killing rules will eventually put them out of work also. You would think that the people would see that perhaps their children would want to someday open their own practice or business but will be unable to do so in such a city. Just look at Detroit, what happened, who was in office, how it happened and why. Surely most of the small entrepreneurs in NY will look for ways to relocate quickly before they get caught up in a scenario where they are working for corrupt government only with a few pennies left over for their sweat.
Raising taxes creates cash societies just like Italy. Italy had to go as far as eliminating the ATM machine usage as each and every month people flocked to the ATM machines to pull out cash in order to pay their bills. Being as desperate as they are, they also decided to raise taxes in a desperate attempt to save the country.
Northerners desperate for refuge
There is a sudden heavy increase of northerners showing up in conservative states like Florida in search of work or setting up shop. After a hard hitting 12 years with Mr. big government himself, how can anyone sustain or even want to live with that type of rule. You would think that a $15.00 toll one way would be enough, but not a chance. The leftists will raise property taxes so high that few new homeowners will start a family anywhere in the state. Upstate NY is a beautiful place to live, home prices are decent but tax bills are through the roof.
The New Yorkers will flock to the areas that the small business is doing better such as Florida and yet still don’t understand the reason behind this abomination of sucking the blood out of those that create jobs. Few years later they will make same mistakes voting in the “take from the rich and give to the poor” people or those that seem to think the people are too stupid to make their own decisions which is proven time and time again to not work in the least.
What happens when the bigger cities continue to fall like dominos and the masses show up in the lighter tax states?
