If McCain is who will be speaking out about the U.S. surveillance over reach than it might be better to not waste any more time on it as it will make a few headlines but that’s about it. The republican senator has called for a congressional investigation into the NSA prior to the White House announcement on privacy reforms. Could it be true that the same senator who quickly voted yes to the drones bill would really be against massive civil surveillance procedures? Who knows but it seems highly unlikely to us. The republicans are forced to say things just so it looks like they are really trying to help it seems. Answer this question: Have they helped in anyway in the past several years?
Ironically McCain stated that congress would likely have to pass the legislation but later investigate the widely spanned surveillance program that records and stores citizen conversations and emails among other things. Ahh yes Mr. McCain congress will surely have to pass that legislation as the lunches might get a bit chilled in the rather frigid afternoon. Oh Goody Mr. McCain!!, we are so happy you could actually set that up for us, we know how much you too are against mass surveillance and do appreciate you stepping up to let us know that the legislation will likely be passed. I have to wonder if people actually listen to this kind of speaking or actually believe that it has any substance. I mean wasn’t it Mr. McCain that looked into several other scandals going on in the recent years but yet they seemed to fly away in the eastern mist. Just seems weird to us that he keeps popping up as our savior.
“There has been overreach, it seems to me,” he added. “Sometimes these agencies have done things just because they can. I think we need a select committee in Congress to go over this whole scenario, because it does overlap many committees.”
After a few years of hearing the same nonsense over and over it becomes almost like a sick form of entertainment at the peoples expense. I wonder who will be the investigative committee on this attempt. Should make for an interesting few hours on C-span perhaps or what not.
If you download and use Firefox you have the ability to block out ads from your browser, I am trying to think of an app where you can block out certain speak. For example, download American privacy and check here to block out meaningless talk. Or perhaps block out any articles or talk from a list of certain senators that have had some big barks with no action for more than a few years.
