Normally I get burned once by a corporate giant like Glad but never twice until once again the fantastic marketing Glad uses for this particular kitchen garbage bag called ForceFlex. I am here to tell you that this bag was most likely a massive mistake by Glad and they had no choice but to market the living shit out of it to improve sales enough to make a profit on it.
If you check the reviews on the bag you will find the thousands of 1 star reviews are buried deep beneath the handful of 4 star reviews on the top layer.
How I got burned into buying this garbage bag
The first time was at BJ’s wholesale club and I actually had another garbage bag in my cart and a lady working in the aisle told me there was a sale with a better garbage bag on the end of the isle. I took a look and sure enough there was a discount from 16.00 down to 12.00 so I grabbed it. Keep in mind these are wholesale clubs so they come with a 6 month supply of bags in a large box.
It was about the 3rd bag in that I realized these bags leak absolutely everything all over the inside of the garbage, if you have to walk to the garbage in a condo, the bag will leak all over the place on your walk. If you have to drive to a dumpster at an apartment complex, the bag will leak in the car or the trunk. The Force Flex is code name for cheap plastic that only works for paper and plastic garbage but nothing even remotely moist or wet.
The garbage can requires massive cleaning and bleaching after every single use due to the fact the plastic used in the Force Flex is total shit.
Glad runs some pretty amazing marketing campaigns
Since i’m convinced that Glad new about this way before going through with production, they had to spend a little more time on this particular model of bag to sell it consistently. In essence when you go to Costco, you will find the ForceFlex bags living on an Isle end, you will typically find it on sale with a $4.00 coupon for the Glad ForceFlex Large Trash Bags, 30 Gallon, 50 Count
Problem is that these bags last so long that people don’t remember the name of the bag until they have been burned twice by the marketing campaign that makes this bag even salable. My guess is that this was meant to be an office garbage bag for paper only that they discussed would bring far more money if they branded it for the kitchen.
If you are looking for a bag that doesn’t leak, we recommend this Glad Tall Kitchen Drawstring Trash Bags, 90 Count
